Man shot, 10-year-old grazed by bullet after shooting inside pool area of apartment complex in Jefferson County

LMPD said the victims were injured at an apartment complex on Saxony Park Circle Saturday evening.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man has been shot and a 10-year-old suffered a graze wound following a shooting in southeastern Jefferson County.

Metro Police said the shooting happened inside a pool area at an apartment complex in the 12600 block of Saxony Park Circle just south of Taylorsville Road around 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, when officers arrived, they were notified of a male juvenile believed to be around 10 years old had suffered a graze gunshot wound. The child was with a family member and flagged down first responders for help.

He was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital and is expected to be okay.

A man who was also at the scene had suffered a gunshot wound. EMS gave the victim first aid and he was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not determined what may have led up to the shooting or the relationship between the two victims, if any.

They do not have any suspects.
