LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It’s being called a pivotal milestone and for the first time in 100 years, Simmons College will open a new residence hall on its campus.

Kentucky’s oldest historically Black college and university will hold a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting on Sept. 26 at noon.

The school is calling the new hall an enriching experience for students by offering “modern, accessible housing.”

In the future, Simmons plans to include additional student amenities, academic spaces and state of the art facilities they said will meet the needs of their growing student body.

“This is a historic moment for Simmons College and for our community,” Kevin W. Cosby, president of Simmons College, said. “This residence hall is not only a place where students are housed but a foundation for future leaders to grow, learn, and shape the world around them.”

Those in attendance will get to tour the facility and learn more about the college’s development plans.
