LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Springhurst Towne Center in east Louisville now has two new owners.
Kaden Companies and Marquee Capitol announced Friday that they have purchased the 800,000-square-foot shopping center near the intersection of Westport Road and the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Marquee Capital is the property's managing agent and is responsible for lease administration and accounting services, while Kaden Companies is the property manager responsible for on-site management, maintenance services, and leasing.
The Springhurst Towne Center opened to the public in 1997 and many of its original tenants still operate the center. It's home to retailers such as Kohl's, Cinemark, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Hobby Lobby. In addition, it's shadow-anchored by Target and Meijer.
Kaden Companies has a "significant history" with the retail development of the Springhurst trade area, officials said. They developed the Home Depot Center and Springhurst Crossings retail center adjacent to Springhurst Towne Center.
"Springhurst Towne Center is an asset that we have targeted for years as part of our long-term ownership strategy. The strength of the trade area and the Tenant's sales performance make the property one of the most desirable retail destinations in the city," Mark Blieden, CEO of Kaden Companies, said. "Using our combined Tenant relationships and operating experience, we look forward to bringing value to both the development and the community."
