LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) are investigating after a fatal crash in the St. Joseph neighborhood Sunday evening.
LMPD's Fourth Division responded to a serious crash on Preston Highway, near the split at Eastern Parkway, around 5:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation found a small sedan was travelling north on Preston Highway in the southbound lanes. When the sedan reached the intersection of Preston Highway and Eastern Parkway, police said it "t-boned" a pick-up truck.
Two people inside the truck were transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities said both are expected to survive.
The driver of the sedan, however, died shortly after arriving at the University of Louisville Hospital. Their identity has not been released at this time.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating at this time.
