Authorities say a 43-year-old man wanted for stabbing his wife in Louisville has died following a police chase in Ohio County.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man wanted by Metro Police in connection with stabbing his wife is dead following a police chase in western Kentucky.

According to the Ohio County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit started in Owensboro around 2:30 a.m. Saturday as Daviess County deputies tried to arrest 43-year-old Kendall Radford.

The pursuit continued into Ohio County where police successfully spiked Radford’s car to stop him.

Deputies said Radford then called 911 to report that he was going to “harm himself.”

The pursuit ended at the intersection of I-165 and the Western Kentucky Parkway.

At that time, police said, Radford’s car crossed the median into oncoming traffic and hit a guardrail.

Police said they attempted life-saving measures, but Radford died at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
