At least 2 people injured after TARC bus crash in Old Louisville

Authorities believe the bus hit a driver who may have run a red light.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — At least two people were injured after a TARC bus crashed into another vehicle in the Old Louisville neighborhood on Tuesday.

The Louisville Metro Police Department's Fourth Division responded to the crash at the intersection of 4th and Lee Streets around 2:30 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, police believe the driver of the car may have run a red light when the bus crashed into it.

The car ended up being pushed into Jessica Stewart's front yard.

"We were just sitting there all weekend, and sitting on those very steps that are [now] filled with dirt," she said. "My nephew was just sitting on those very steps that would have been impacted."

Both of the people inside the car suffered "minor injuries," LMPD said.

Police said the TARC bus was carrying several passengers and only one person wanted to be checked out by EMS.

LMPD's Fourth Division is handling the investigation.
