Louisville Fire rescues teens after boat gets stuck by 'Old Dam' on Labor Day

No injuries were reported.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two teens were rescued by Louisville Fire after being stuck in their boat on Labor Day, a news release from the department said.

They said crews were sent out around 7 p.m. about reports of a 17' John boat being stuck on the "Old Dam" down by the hydros. 

Crews were able to spot the boat from Shipping Port Island, the release says.

A rescue boat was launched from Shawnee boat ramp and the teens were saved. 

The John boat was towed back to the Harrison boat ramp.

The release says the rescue took 18 firefighters around 70 minutes. 

There were no injuries reported.
