Testimony reveals new info in Rhodes case

He's accused of killing three people in less than three weeks just last month. On Friday, Brice Rhodes was back in court for a preliminary hearing for his charges.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- He's accused of killing three people in less than three weeks just last month.

On Friday, Brice Rhodes was back in court for a preliminary hearing for his charges.

While police believe Brice Rhodes is responsible for three deaths, Friday's hearing focused just on the brutal killings of the two teen brothers, Maurice Gordon and Larry Ordway.

Their bodies were found behind an abandoned house in Shawnee on May 22.

For the first time today, detectives say the amount of evidence they have in this case is overwhelming.

Detectives said they found a "great amount of blood and other evidence" in both Rhoades house and car.

Police believe he used the car to transport the bodies of the two teens.

For the first time on Friday, detectives also talked about Rhodes starting a dumpster fire as a way to get rid of the evidence.

Detectives said that Rhodes stabbed and killed the boys because they witnessed him kill 40-year-old Christopher Jones earlier in the month of May.

Officials also said that two other teens helped Rhodes with the killings of the brothers.

Detectives said their interviews have been very helpful in getting the following information.

“Everything that Mr. Rhoades did, he not only engaged in bringing the juveniles to the location of the murder, he also engaged in the actual murder and the disposing of the bodies and the clean-up of the location, not only the apartment but also the vehicle itself,” Detective Aaron Tinelli of LMPD said who is with the Major Crimes Division.

This case will now go before a grand jury the week of July 11.

It will decide whether or not to indict Brice Rhodes on those charges.

Rhodes' attorney also asked the judge lower his bond from $2 million to $1 million, but she denied the request.
