LOUISVILLE, ky. (WHAS11) -- The shooting at Kroger in Jeffersontown, Kentucky brought talk of the death penalty back into conversations. Many have called for prosecutors to seek the death penalty for Gregory Bush, the white man accused of gunning down two African-American shoppers.

While Federal prosecutors have stepped in with their own potential death penalty eligible charges, a death sentence in Kentucky could take decades to carry out.

In fact, it has been ten years since Kentucky executed a death row inmate.
