KENTUCKY (WHAS11) – It was a first for emergency responders on Friday evening, Aug. 3, as they responded to help a horse trapped in a trailer.
The first responders had to use the Jaws of Life to free a horse, on the Western Kentucky Parkway at the Butler-Grayson county line. The horse was riding in a trailer when the trailer’s tire blew. The horse was then spooked and led to it getting trapped because it jumped into another compartment of the trailer.
KSP Trooper Corey King tweeted the horse was having some breathing issues, due to how it was trapped, but thanks to first responders from the Litchfield Fire Department and Kentucky State Police the horse was freed and only suffered minor cuts.
King says first responders do see a lot.
“It’s true when #FirstResponders say “they’ve seen it all”…” King tweeted.
