Trinity cancels school as police investigate report of a 'suspicious person' near campus

School has been canceled for the day.

St. Matthews Police are at Trinity High School, investigating reports of a "suspicious person".

According to police, a passenger on a TARC bus called police about a person wearing a full face mask who got off the bus across the street from the high school.

Classes at Trinity - including final exams - have been canceled for the day. Exams that were scheduled for Dec. 20 will be held on Dec. 21 and exams that were originally scheduled for the 21 will now be held on Jan. 7.

There were fewer students at the school on Thursday than normal, due to the fact they arrive later on exam days, officials said.

The person in question has not been found. Police said they are working with TARC to get more information on the "suspicious person."

Trinity canceled classes less than a month ago after 29-year-old Thor Wiljanen posted a threatening tweet against the school. The tweet was in reference to Jeff Brohm, the Purdue football coach who declined the head coaching job at the University of Louisville who is also a Trinity graduate. Wiljanen was arrested for that threat.
