LOUISVILLE, Ky. — So, let's say your driver's license just expired and you can't get it renewed because most offices are still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Can you still go to the liquor store and buy some bourbon for the weekend?
Short answer: Yes.
Both governors in Kentucky and Indiana extended expiration dates on licenses when these offices closed, so if your license just expired, you should be totally fine.
If, by chance, you go to one store and they don't accept your ID, just try another one. Total Wine & More told WHAS11 they are accepting expired IDs, as long as they fall within the 90-day extension period.
If you really want to renew your license, you can in Indiana. The BMV just opened back up by appointment only so you can go online or call them and set up a time.
In Kentucky, drivers licenses services are still suspended until further notice.
