WARRICK, Indiana — This holiday season is expected to bring another busy travel season and Indiana State Police (ISP) are reminding drivers to buckle up before they hit the road after a terrifying crash Tuesday morning.
"It's always important to take a few seconds and ensure everyone is buckled up properly," ISP Sgt. Todd Ringle said.
State troopers responded to a rollover crash on State Road 61 near French Road in Warrick around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
ISP said the driver was traveling south on SR 61 when he drove off the roadway and flipped several times before eventually coming to a full stop.
Thankfully, the driver and front seat passenger were uninjured. ISP credits their safety to them wearing seat belts.
A 13-month-old baby in the car was also uninjured because he was "properly restrained in a child safety seat," Ringle said.
And if your personal safety wasn't enough reason to wear a seat belt when driving, remember Kentucky and Indiana both have primary seat belt laws.
That means authorities can pull you over if anyone in the vehicle isn't wearing a seat belt and those in violation can be fined.
