WHAS11 honored with 8 Regional Emmys during annual ceremony

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The talented journalists of WHAS11 have won 8 Regional Emmy Awards during the annual Ohio Valley Emmys gala.

The ceremony was held Saturday night in Lexington, Kentucky.

WHAS11 sends out huge congratulations to our colleagues who won and those who were nominated.

Winners:

Diversity/Equity/Inclusion – Lena Duncan, Alyssa Newton, Eric King and Joseph Garcia (The link between food insecurity and violent crime in Louisville)

Arts/Entertainment/News- Sherlene Shanklin (Ken Clay: the Man Behind the Music Scene in Louisville during the Civil Rights Movement)

Diversity/Equity/Inclusion – Shay McAlister, Phillip Murrell (Bullies on the State Board)

Crime/Justice – John Charlton (One Case, Three Traumas)

Military Short or Long Form – Jessica Farley, Brooke Hasch ('84 Strong': Kentucky veterans finally receive welcome home celebration they didn't get years ago)

Investigative Multiple Reports – John Charlton, Phillip Murrell (“UnGuarded: Dangerous Guardrails”)
