Woman dead after car crash in Taylor Berry neighborhood, LMPD says

An SUV was headed westbound on Algonquin Parkway at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman was killed after crashing into a tree in Louisville's Taylor Berry neighborhood Thursday afternoon. 

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a call for service on a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 1200 block of Algonquin Parkway around 1:30 p.m. 

LMPD said an SUV was headed westbound on Algonquin Parkway at a high rate of speed when, for some unknown reason, the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. 

Louisville Fire and Rescue along with LMEMS responded to the scene to render aid. 

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved. 

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling this investigation.
