LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is dead after being hit by a car on Thursday, according to a press release from the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
They say officers responded to the 1100 block of East Broadway shortly after 8 a.m.
The release says a woman was hit by a car going east on Broadway when she was trying to cross the street.
LMPD says the woman was not in a designated crosswalk when she was hit.
The driver of the car stopped after the collision and cooperated with officers when they got on the scene.
There were no other victims involved or hurt during the crash.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
They did block off parts of the roadway during their investigation but they plan to have it back open in an hour or so.
