LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is dead and two others were left injured after a head-on crash in southeast Jefferson County late Saturday night.
Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to a single vehicle collision in the 5700 block of Taylorsville Lake Road around 10:30 p.m.
According to witnesses, police said a northbound passenger vehicle was driving "erratically," swerved over into the southbound lanes of traffic, and crashed into a passenger vehicle head on in the southbound lanes.
As a result, LMPD said both drivers were taken to UofL Hospital with life threatening injuries. The southbound vehicle driver, 40-year-old Erendida Lane, later died of her injuries at the hospital.
The southbound vehicle had a juvenile passenger that was transported to Norton Children's Hospital.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
