VINE GROVE, Ky. — A Kentucky man, who wishes to remain anonymous, won big playing the Kentucky Lottery online a few weeks ago.
On May 17, the Vine Grove man wagered $20 on the Multiplier Vaults instant play game. Seconds later, he discovered he was the $100,000 winner.
“I was up to like $1,000 in my account and thought, I should probably just cash out but decided to play one more time,” he said. I couldn’t keep up with the screen but knew this was going to be a good one and then it stopped at $100,000.”
“I looked at the odds and that was a one in a million hit,” he said. “It was shock."
The lucky winner said he immediately called his wife and told her she could come home early if she wanted. "I don't know if she believed me," he said. "I had to send her a screenshot."
The following Monday, the Hardin County man received a check for $72,000 after taxes. He told lottery officials that he and his wife are looking forward to paying off their debt with their winnings.
“This is really going to go a long way to knocking out our debts and will move us ahead of schedule,” he said.
