BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Comedian Matt Rife called off stand-up comedy shows in Bloomington Wednesday night, citing a medical emergency.

Rife was scheduled to perform at the IU Auditorium at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. May 29, but made the announcement on social media shortly after 7:30 p.m.

"INDIANA: I'm so (expletive) sorry, but due to a last minute medical emergency i have to reschedule our shows tonight (again)," he posted. "I've been doing 40+ shows a month for a year and half and never had to do something like this, I'm so so sorry, i hope you understand and i love you so much."

On Thursday, Deadline.com reported Rife postponed dates in Chicago and Nashville due to "extreme exhaustion symptoms." The Chicago Theatre and Ryman Auditorium shared a message about the postponements, saying Rife "nearly fainted" on his way to the IU Auditorium Wednesday evening.

The comedian is reportedly taking a two-week hiatus to recover from the symptoms.

The Bloomington shows, part of Rife's "ProbleMATTic World Tour," were originally scheduled for Feb. 14, 2024. Rife announced that schedule change two days before the show.

Despite Rife's wording of "rescheduling" the May 29 shows in Bloomington, a follow-up post mentioned refunds were being issued for the shows. A release from the IU Auditorium said the shows have been canceled.
