IFD crew rescues owl stuck in soccer net

It took the crew about 15 minutes to get the little owl safely freed from the net.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters are trained to rescue people and typically battle fires, so it's not often they get to respond to a call like this!

Saturday evening, June 22, a concerned Hoosier stopped by IFD Station 35 and told the crew about an owl that had gotten stuck in a soccer net at the St. Francis soccer fields in the 7700 block of Arlington Avenue, near East Stop 11 Road on the city's south side.

According to IFD, the crew jumped in to help and took about 15 minutes to get the little owl safely freed from the net.
