MIDDLETOWN, Indiana — A youth pastor at an east central Indiana church is now facing child sexual abuse charges.
According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, June 12, a member of the Sulphur Springs Christian Church alerted the head pastor to alleged misconduct from the church's youth pastor.
The head pastor then reportedly gathered the youth pastor and the church's leadership together and the youth pastor was immediately fired by the church's elders. The church then made a report to the police.
The youth pastor was interviewed by police before being arrested and taken to the Henry County Jail. The youth pastor, who also served as a substitute teacher and coach at Shenandoah High School, was arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor and also faces three counts of child solicitation.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office says the case is still under investigation.
