Father, two adult children identified in Tennessee plane crash

Louisiana State University identified two of the passengers as Giselle and Jean-Luc Doucet. The university said the siblings were supposed to graduate on Friday.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. — A small plane traveling to Louisville crashed in Middle Tennessee on Wednesday, killing all three passengers on board.

Louisiana State University identified two of the passengers as Giselle and Jean-Luc Doucet. The university said on their social media the seniors were supposed to graduate on Friday.

"We will honor both students at their respective commencement ceremonies, and we will do everything possible to help and support those in our community who are impacted by this tragedy," they said.

The Williamson Cosmetic Center also identified the third passenger as Dr. Lucius Doucet III on social media. LSU said he was the siblings' father.

"Dr. Doucet was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also a compassionate man who touched the lives of countless individuals within our community," the cosmetic center wrote. "Words cannot adequately express the profound sorrow we feel at this time."

The single-engine plane was flying from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the aircraft is a Beech V35.

It crashed around noon near Bending Chestnut Road and Davis Hollow Road in Franklin, a suburb southwest of Nashville, according to Williamson County Fire and Rescue.

When first responders initially arrived on scene, officials said it became apparent they would be conducting a search and recovery operation. Authorities said there is a “rather large debris field," as it appears the plane broke in the air.

Police said debris has been reported in nearby residents’ yards.

The NTSB is investigating the crash.
