Election Day is almost here

Secretary of State Michael Adams expects Kentucky's voter turnout to be higher this November compared to 2020's Presidential Election.

In a social media post Wednesday, Adams said over 130,000 Kentuckians requested an absentee ballot to vote in the upcoming election. The deadline to request an absentee ballot was Tuesday night.

Adams said 51% of absentee ballots were requested by Democrats, 40% by Republicans, and the remaining ballots were requested by voters registered to other political parties.

"As absentee ballots generally make up 2%-4% of all ballots cast, this portends a massive overall turnout," Adams said in a social media post on Wednesday. "For the love of God, vote early."

Election Day is Nov. 5.

You can see a sample ballot on the Jefferson County Clerk's website.

The polls will be open on Election Day across Kentucky from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Voters are required to bring some form of identification. That could be a driver's license, a military ID, a college ID or other government-issued ID.

In-person excused absentee voting is already underway in Louisville and you can do so at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Standard early voting is Oct. 31 and Nov. 1-2 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. in Jefferson County.

You can find your polling place on the Jefferson County Clerks Office website.
