INDIANA, USA — If you're a Hoosier and you're a bit of an early bird, you can head to the polls this week.
Tuesday, Oct. 8, is the first day of early voting in Indiana.
Each county varies on the number of locations and times.
In Floyd County, which is just across the river from Louisville, you can stop by the 4-H Fairgrounds starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
County Clerk Danita Burks says offering early voting makes it easier for people to cast their ballots.
Hoosiers across the state will vote for the next president and the next governor. Because of this, officials expect turnout to be high.
"We do hope that, not only because it's presidential, it's our governor, but we also have our county commissioners race. We have some local races and it's your community, it's your voice that needs to be heard," Burks said.
Early voting in Indiana ends at noon on Monday, Nov. 4, the day before the election.
Kentucky's early voting doesn't begin until Oct. 31 and ends Nov. 2.
Monday this week was the last day for both Indiana and Kentucky voters to register to vote in the November election.
