Governor Tim Walz coming to Louisville on Wednesday to campaign for Kamala Harris

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is visiting Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Kentucky this week.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gov. Tim Walz will be in Louisville on Wednesday as he and Vice President Kamala Harris are making their way across the country before the election.

According to a press release, Walz will arrive at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

At 5 p.m. he will deliver remarks at a campaign reception on behalf of the Harris Victory Fund.

Battleground states Pennsylvania and North Carolina are also stops in Walz' campaign trail this week.

On Wednesday, Walz will make stops in Durham and Greenville, North Carolina to deliver remarks at a rally in Wilmington.

On Thursday, the Governor will campaign on behalf of the Harris-Walz ticket in Philadelphia.

This comes as all candidates are hitting battleground states hard as the election is only a few weeks away.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear was also on the shortlist of people being considered for the position of Kamala Harris' running mate before she chose Walz.

Shortly after the announcement, Beshear released a statement about the pick on social media, calling Gov. Walz "a great friend and a great choice."

In fact, Walz attended Beshear's inauguration ceremony in December 2023.

The 60-year-old Walz is a Midwestern governor, military veteran and union supporter who helped enact an ambitious Democratic agenda for his state, including sweeping protections for abortion rights and generous aid to families.

This year's general election takes place on Nov. 5. Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.
