When do polls open and close in Indiana?

INDIANA, USA — Election Day is just around the corner. 

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. If you are in line at 6 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

If you are working on Election Day, you may be entitled to a maximum of four consecutive hours off from work in order to vote or cast an absentee ballot if you make a request for time off with your employer.

Your employer may specify the hours you may take leave to cast a ballot.

You can find your polling place online or on your voter registration card, which should have already been mailed to you. If not, you can reach out to your county clerks office.

There are a few ways to lookup what is on your specific ballot. 

Indiana has a voter portal where you can find your sample ballot depending on your county.

If you want more information about measures, amendments and candidates, you can also look at your sample ballot on Ballotpedia. 

Ballotpedia is nonprofit and nonpartisan organization who serves as an encyclopedia to American politics. 

To look up your sample ballot, all you have to do is that matches your voter registration and the site will pull up everything you can vote on. You can click through the different sections to get a concise or details explanation different parts of the ballot.
