Secretary of State Grimes wants public to review pension bills

Grimes wants all pension related bills to be available to the public for at least 24 hours.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- To prevent a repeat of the last couple days in Frankfort, involving the special session, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes wants all pension bills available for public review for at least 24 hours.

Working with retiring Representative Jody Richards, Secretary Grimes drafted a bill for a constitutional amendment.

It ensures people are given a day to review bills about public employees' pension plans.

In a statement, Grimes said she wants to ensure no matter who is in charge, Kentuckians "never go through this dysfunctional process ever again."
