TARC testing mobile ticketing, offering free rides on select Route 4 buses starting July 1

This pilot program will gather data on the feasibility of executing mobile ticketing for all Louisville area TARC services.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – On July 1, TARC will pilot a mobile-ticketing payment option for select buses along Route 4.

This pilot program will gather data on the feasibility of executing mobile ticketing for all Louisville area TARC services.

“TARC continues to move forward and lead the country in advanced mobility options,” Ferdianand L. Risco Jr., TARC executive director, said, “With the addition of mobile ticketing our customers will be able to plan, book, and pay for their transportation all from a single device they use every day.”

Download the mobile-ticketing option from the new TARC mobile app. When you board a bus on Route 4 from July 1 through July 14 and you see the mobile-ticketing sensor at the farebox, tap your mobile ticket and you will ride fare-free.
