No Man Left Behind
NatGeo, 9 ET/PT
This series tells the stories of soldiers who were trapped behind enemy lines. First up: The Real Black Hawk Down, which focuses on three soldiers endangered when two American helicopters went down in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Wrath of a Great White Serial Killer
Discovery, 9 ET/PT
While many of us enjoy the tongue-in-cheek excesses of Shark Week, its programs — or, at least, its titles — drive to despair scientists who strive to understand and protect sharks. It may be true, as Wrath insists, that great white sharks are now appearing off the Pacific Northwest coast in unprecedented numbers. It’s almost certainly not true that any of them are “wrathful” — at least not unless we’ve done something to enrage them — or “serial killers” of anything except the animals they eat. Only one animal on this planet produces serial killers on a regular basis — and it’s not sharks.
Zoo
CBS, 9 ET/PT
It’s a tough night to be a non-human. In the second-season premiere of this sci-fi series, one of last summer’s cheesiest, the animals move on to Phase 2 of their mutation and their evil plans. Apparently that involves destroying the environment so the planet becomes uninhabitable for humans.
