LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A third University of Kentucky basketball player joined his teammates in the NBA on Thursday.
The Orlando Magic picked Kentucky guard Antonio Reeves in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. He was the 47th pick overall.
He was then immediately traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Chicago native started at Illinois State in 2019 and transferred to Kentucky for the 2022-23 season.
According to UK Athletics, Reeves averaged 15.1 total points per game and 2,350 across his college career. His season high of 30 points was last December against the University of Louisville.
His teammates that were drafted on the first day were Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham; the Houston Rockets picked up Sheppard, and the San Antonio Spurs chose Dillingham before he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
