LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville basketball team will be without one of its key players for the remainder of the season.
The team confirmed Monday senior forward Kasean Pryor suffered a season-ending torn ACL against Oklahoma. Pryor transferred from South Florida before the season and made an immediate impact, averaging 12 points and 6.1 rebounds in a little over 23 minutes per game.
A UofL spokesperson said Pryor is expected to make a full recovery.
The injury happened in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game Friday in the Bahamas. Louisville guard Chucky Hepburn fell backwards into Pryor's leg early in the second half.
Pryor appeared to be in pain and later returned to the bench in a wheelchair.
Pryor posted on Instagram Monday morning:
"Not the way i expected my senior year of basketball to end! Gods timing is always perfect and i know things happen for a reason! A minor setback for a major comeback! I could never quit! Card nation, i appreciate the love and support throughout this journey; it’s definitely felt! And to everyone who’s reached out to send their prayers and wishes, thank you! They mean a lot to me! The work doesn’t stop here! i’ll be cheering my guys on all season!"
Louisville (5-2) plays Ole Miss (6-1) Tuesday at the Yum! Center.
