LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard was one of the first 2024 NBA draft prospects to receive an invitation to the green room, according to a report from ESPN.
Sheppard is expected to be among the top picks. UK guard Rob Dillingham is also a projected lottery pick, but was not included in the first wave of invitations because he is not yet eligible for the draft.
At least one more round of invitations will go out before the draft on June 26.
Sheppard led the country in 3-point shooting last season at 52.1%. He also shot 51.4% on catch-and-shoot attempts.
The freshman mostly came off the bench, but still averaged 12.5 points in 28.9 minutes per game.
Dillingham has yet to complete all requirements to be draft-eligible set by the league's collective bargaining agreement. An ankle injury sidelined him from athletic testing and shooting drills at the NBA draft combine in May.
The injury has also kept him from attending private workouts with NBA teams.
However, his agent told ESPN he plans to fulfill all requirements Friday when he works out at the Los Angeles Lakers facility.
Dillingham averaged 15.2 points and 3.9 assists per game last season.
