LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville football team capped the regular season in emphatic fashion Saturday, trouncing rival Kentucky 41-14, and now the Cards will wait to find out where they're headed for bowl season.
Isaac Brown and Duke Watson rushed for two touchdowns each and Ramon Puryear returned one of Louisville's five takeaways for a score. UofL (8-4, 5-3 ACC) won the Governor's Cup for the first time since 2017.
Kentucky (4-8, 1-7 SEC) lost for the sixth time in seven games after having its school-record eight-year postseason streak snapped. Louisville will head to a bowl game for the fourth straight year.
The Cards will find out where they're going bowling Sunday. Miami's upset loss to Syracuse on Saturday could keep them out of the College Football Playoff and have a domino effect on where other ACC teams land.
