LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Saturday was consequential for the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky football teams, with the Cards being dealt their first loss and the Wildcats earning their biggest win.
No. 22 Louisville (3-1, 1-0 ACC) came up short in a comeback bid in South Bend, Indiana, falling 31-24 to No. 14 Notre Dame (4-1). Meanwhile Kentucky (3-2, 1-2 SEC) knocked off No. 12 Ole Miss (4-1, 0-1) 20-17 in its highest-ranked road win since 1977.
The Rebels were ranked sixth in the country going into the game.
