LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville wide receiver Caullin Lacy has opted out for the rest of the season after playing in just four games for the Cardinals.
WHAS11 confirmed the news Wednesday night.
The South Alabama transfer broke his collarbone in fall camp which forced him to miss a significant amount of time. He caught 15 passes for 179 yards in four games this season for the Cardinals.
He also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in their most recent game against Miami.
Louisville wanted to ease him back in the mix; head coach Jeff Brohm said Lacy is "somebody we just got to utilize."
"And I just think every game, if we can continue to make sure the ball is in his hands numerous, he can help us win," he said. "He competes, he plays hard, and I think he's done a really good job, and I can see him continuing to get better for us."
The Cards' next game is Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. against Boston College.
