LOUISVILLE, Ky. — We're nearly 150 days away from the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. As part of the countdown to Derby Day, the Kentucky Derby Festival has unveiled its first look at the 2024 Pegasus Pin.
The pin for Derby 150 features the KDF's Pegasus symbol and teal color along with the number "150th" in red, a signature color of the Kentucky Derby. It was designed in collaboration with Churchill Downs.
And if you've been collecting Pegasus Pins for a while, you may even recognize next year's design, which will be the festival's 52nd Pegasus Pin. The new design is similar to the 1974 Pegasus Pin, which honored the 100th Kentucky Derby.
Festival fanatics can pre-order a plastic 2024 Pegasus Pin starting Wednesday, Dec. 6.
The pins will be available in retail locations beginning in March 2024.
Looking for a special Pegasus Pin to add to your collection?
The KDF will be at the Kentucky Derby Museum's "Race to 150" event on Dec. 6 and will offer the first 150 guests a free commemorative metal festival pin. For the first time ever, collector pins from previous years will also be available for purchase at the museum's gift shop.
