LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 150th running of the Kentucky Derby was historic in plenty of ways, including the finish of Saturday's milestone race.
Mystik Dan held off Sierra Leone and Forever Young in one of the closest Triple Crown races in history. The race took several minutes to become official as the 150,000-plus people at the track awaited official word on the photo finish.
Mystik Dan held a solid lead as the horses made the turn for the final stretch, but Sierra Leone and Forever Young made a furious rally in the final furlongs to make it photo finish. You can watch the dramatic finish below.
