LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The field of 68 is now set and No. 24 Louisville now know their fate.
The Cardinals have earned a No. 6 seed in the Albany Regional 2 bracket and will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to face No. 11 Middle Tennessee (29-4). They will play on March 22 at 1:30 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN2.
Louisville will enter the tournament with a 24-9 record.
After dropping the regular season finale and the ACC Tournament quarterfinal to Notre Dame, the Cardinal women have a lot of work to do if they want to have a great showing in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Because of the loss in the ACC Tournament, Louisville will not get a chance to host their opening rounds.
Coach Jeff Walz is 40-14 in NCAA Tournament games and ranked 8th all-time and fifth among active coaches with a 74.1 tournament percentage, according to Louisville athletics.
Last year, the Cardinals made it to the Elite 8 but fell short against Caitlyn Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
