LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville men’s basketball coach Pat Kelsey has added a familiar face to his coaching staff.

Peyton Siva will join Kelsey as director of player development and basketball alumni relations. This is first job in college coaching.

“I’m excited and honored to join Coach Kelsey’s staff,” Siva said in a statement. “I love Louisville, and I loved putting that jersey on and playing in front of the best fans in the country. And now I have the amazing opportunity to help build this program back up from the sidelines.”

Siva explained his new role will give him the chance to help mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the court.

Kelsey said he has built a relationship with Siva since his hiring as the new head coach. Calling him a "living legend" and "decorated recruit", Kelsey believes in Siva’s impeccable character and his invaluable basketball knowledge.

“If he decides to pursue the coaching route he is a sure-fire head coach down the road,” Kelsey said.

Siva had quite the career with the Cardinals. He ranked first and third in program history for most assists in a single season and second for most assists in a career. He had 90 steals in the 2012-2013 season – the most ever for a Cardinal in a season and also had the second most steals in a UofL career.
