LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An ESPN reporter had an unexpected moment after No. 9 Louisville football celebrated its win against Miami.
ESPN’s Molly McGrath was conducting a postgame interview with Jeff Brohm when two Cardinals football team members came over and dumped a bucket of Gatorade on Brohm.
Well, McGrath happened to also get drenched, catching her by surprise.
She took it in stride, sharing on Twitter (X), “Gatorade bath season and it feels so good.”
The Cards captured the inaugural Schnellenberger trophy after beating Miami 38-31.
QB Jack Plummer threw three touchdown passes including a 58-yarder to Kevin Coleman that helped Louisville hang on to win.
“This is a big win,” Brohm said during a news conference. “To come down to Miami and win a game with a lot riding on it, it's a great feeling.”
With the win, Louisville clinches a spot in the ACC title game and will face No. 4 Florida State on Dec. 2 in Charlotte.
The Cards had originally been picked to finish 8th in the conference.
“Soaking it all in,” Louisville football shared on Twitter.
Brohm made a little history of his own when he became the first coach at UofL to have a 10-win season in his first year.
Louisville ends their regular season on Nov. 25, playing their in-state rival Kentucky at the L&N Federal Credit Union. Tipoff time is at noon and will air on WHAS11.
