LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville has accepted an invite to play in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl.
The Cards will take on the USC Trojans (7-5, 5-4) on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. in San Diego.
This will be the first time the Cards will face the Trojans and it’s the 10th encounter ever against a team from the Pac-12 conference.
The news comes after Louisville fell short in their first-ever ACC Championship game against Florida State Saturday night. Under first-year coach Jeff Brohm. Louisville finished their 2023 regular season with a 10-3 record and 7-1 in conference play. The Cards were originally picked to finish 8th in the preseason.
The Cards became bowl eligible after defeating Notre Dame 33-20 on Oct. 7.
The Trojans, led by quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, are entering the postseason with a three-game losing streak.
This is Louisville’s 26th bowl game appearance with their most recent win in 2022 against Cincinnati during the Wasabi Fenway Bowl.
