'Indescribable loss.' | Racing Louisville FC coach sadly announces miscarriage

The team made the sad announcement Sunday afternoon.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Racing Louisville FC’s head coach Bev Yanez will miss Sunday’s game after sadly suffering a miscarriage.

The team made the announcement Sunday ahead of their match with North Carolina Courage that included a statement from Yanez.

“My family and I are heartbroken with the miscarriage of our baby boy. We are grieving and healing as a family at this time. It is an indescribable hurt, that through sharing my story, I am realizing many have gone through,” Yanez.

Yanez added she was grateful for the support around them as they will begin healing their hearts.

Clubs and players around the NWSL also offered their condolences to Yanez.

“On behalf of the @TheNCCourage club I want to let @bevyanez know we are thinking of her and her family during this time,” Courage head coach Sean Nahas said.

After Sunday’s game, Racing Louisville will go on a hiatus for the Olympics.

They will return to Lynn Family Stadium and will face Chicago on Aug. 24.
