Breckenridge Lane reopens after woman killed in fatal crash

Breckenridge Lane was shut down in both directions for several hours Friday morning between Sudburry Lane and Hikes Lane.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A stretch of a roadway in Louisville was blocked off for several hours after a fatal crash Friday morning.

At about 5 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a vehicle collision in the 3100 block of Breckenridge Lane, according to an LMPD news release.

Investigators believe a car was traveling westbound on Breckenridge Lane when, for some unknown reason, the driver lost control and crashed the vehicle.

A passenger of the vehicle, a woman, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured. LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.

As of 10 a.m., the roadway has reopened.
