Driver injured in crash involving Clarksville Community School bus, police investigating

Police said the crash happened in the area of South Clark Boulevard and Stansifer Avenue.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A southern Indiana school bus was involved in a crash on Tuesday afternoon.

Clarksville Police said they are investigating a collision involving a Clarksville Community School bus in the area of South Clark Boulevard and Stansifer Avenue.

Authorities said no children or passengers on the school bus were injured, but the driver in the other vehicle has serious injuries.

They have asked that drivers avoid the area until it is cleared.

Brian Shaw, a spokesperson for Clark Community Schools, said there were nine students on board that came from various schools within the district, and EMS has released them all to their parents.

"The kids seem fine," Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls said. "A couple of them were I think, emotionally shook up a little bit, just the chain of events, but everybody was checked out by EMS and all the kids seemed to check out fine."

Shaw said the school bus was rear-ended by the other vehicle at that intersection.
