CRESTWOOD, Ky. — A Crestwood man was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on I-71 Tuesday morning, according to Oldham County Police.
In a press release, Oldham County officials said several emergency services responded to a report of a crash on I-71S near the Crestwood/Pewee Valley exit around 11:20 a.m.
From their preliminary investigation, police believe traffic had stopped on the interstate when the driver of a box truck ran into a car, pushing it into the back of semi-truck and trailer.
The driver of the car, identified as 39-year-old Daniel Griffith of Crestwood, died at the scene.
I-71S was shut down for several hours as police worked to clear the area.
Oldham County Police will continue the investigation. If anyone has additional information about the incident, they are asked to call 502-222-1300.
