LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Both directions of a major Louisville interstate were shutdown Monday afternoon due to the storms last night.
All lanes of I-265, also known as the Gene Snyder, were blocked off in both directions starting at 2 p.m. between Dixie Highway and Stonestreet Road.
Louisville Metro Emergency Services announced on social media both the the northbound and southbound lanes reopened just before 9 p.m.
While the interstate was blocked off, crews will repair downed power lines knocked down during the powerful storm.
Louisville Metro Police Department officials said this would disrupt the flow of traffic in the area and drivers would need to use alternative routes if they lived or worked in the area.
