LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An LMPD officer is okay after a crash on I-264 West.
Metro Police said Second Division officers responded to a call for service on reports of a crash involving a vehicle at the 3 mile-marker at I-264 westbound near the Dumesnil Street exit around 10 p.m. Monday.
When the officer arrived, he located the crash. As the officer was working the scene, LMPD said a vehicle traveling westbound came from behind him and struck his marked cruiser at the scene and caused minor damage.
The officer was not hurt, neither was the driver that struck the cruiser as well as the driver from the initial crash.
Police do believe that weather played a factor in the crash.
They said officers in the area experienced icing on the roadways between Cane Run Road and Dumesnil Street had slick spots due to the earlier weather that had moved in.
