LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A major Louisville interstate was shutdown for several hours Tuesday morning after a rollover crash.
As of 6:30 a.m., all lanes of I-71 North at I-264 East are now reopened.
At about 1:45 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a commercial vehicle on I-71 North, according to an LMPD news release.
Investigators believe a semi-tractor trailer was traveling eastbound from I-264 and had exited onto I-71 North when "for some unknown reason," the tractor-trailer overturned and rolled over.
Emergency crews were on scene in just minutes and located the rollover crash. The accident involved only one vehicle. The driver and sole occupant reported no injuries.
There was a reported fuel leak at the scene that included the truck's diesel. The roadway was blocked for several hours as crews continued to clean and clear the scene.
LMPD is investigating this crash.
