ISP: 1 dead after fatal crash on Indiana interstate

Indiana State Police is investigating a fatal crash that happened on I-64 eastbound, near the 99.5 mile marker west of Corydon.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after a crash on Interstate 64 in southern Indiana on Wednesday.

Indiana State Police (ISP) is investigating a fatal crash that happened on I-64 eastbound, near the 99.5 mile marker west of Corydon.

ISP spokesperson Cary Hulls said a semi pulling a trailer stopped in the fast lane due to a technical issue; they couldn't pull over into the right lane or shoulder due to traffic. The driver then called 911 and put out warning cones.

He said another vehicle was driving in the fast lane but failed to merge into the right lane and collided with the semi-trailer. The driver died at the scene.

That driver has been identified as 50-year-old Suresh Kumar Lohano from Washington, Indiana.
