LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge in Louisville will soon fully reopen ahead of schedule.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Friday steel repair work on the bridge will be complete by Monday morning. Traffic control measures currently in place will be removed starting at 9 a.m., which will restore full access to all lanes on the bridge.
The project addressed 44 areas in need of repair following a federally required inspection. Repairs were made as a precautionary measure to ensure the bridge's safety for future travel.
The work cost about $3 million and was completed by Southern Road and Bridge LLC.
